Inspired by the classic adventure games of the 80s and 90s, Battle Ax is a top-down hack & slash arcade game created by veteran pixel artist Henk Nieborg.

Battle Ax features high quality visuals, faithful gameplay mechanics and music from legendary VGM composer Manami Matsumae.

For as long as you and your people can remember, your homeland of Mercia has been held under the tyrannical rule of "Etheldred," a despotic sorceress who resides in a seemingly impenetrable tower in the far frozen wastes of the north.



Every seven years, she sends her armies south to handpick the inhabitants of each commune to be subjected to a life of slavery, and they are never heard from again.

A call goes out to champions across the country, asking them to end her dominance. An elf, a wizard, and a marauder answer the call.

Join this band of heroes on their quest to defeat the evil in the land and defeat Etheldred once and for all!
